About Child Safety Pledge

The Child Safety Pledge is a collaborative effort to raise awareness and encourage organizations to adopt best practices to protect against child sexual abuse. We believe that every youth-serving organization aspires to provide a safe environment for the children in their care, and we seek to empower them with the capacity to do exactly that. We seek to serve as a catalyst in the space and amplify the powerful work that already exists. To that end, our platform will seek to connect individuals and organizations to the available knowledge, tools, and resources in prevention, detection, management and response, and we plan to work with key partners to fill in the gaps.

Our approach is two-fold:

Engaging youth-serving organizations and the people that fund them to help build child-safe spaces and provide the tools and resources for them to do so; and
Empowering parents with the tools to educate their families on child sexual abuse and to ensure the organizations that care for their children are using gold standard safety protocols to protect against child sexual abuse.
The ultimate goal is to create a safer, more transparent, and more accountable environment in organizations that work with children so that fewer children will be at risk of becoming victims of sexual abuse.
